DRYBRUSHING: 1. How to drybrush

Drybrushing is an easy and fast method for highlighting the details on a miniature. As the name suggests, your brush must be completely dry before dipping it in the paint (for drybrushing, we reccommend that you use warcolours ONE-COAT range of paints). It is also a good idea to mix your own paint for drybrushing by adding white (or yellow) ONE-COAT paint to any warcolours paint you like in order to achieve the desired colour gradient. This will give you a huge selection of options for drybrushing. If you are not sure how to choose the correct colour for drybrushing then see DRYBRUSHING: 2. Selecting the correct colour.

Dip your brush in the paint and wipe off the paint using a dry kitchen towel until almost all of the paint is removed from your brush. Now rapidly brush the miniature with a back and forth motion and gradually build the colour to your satisfaction. All the raised areas of the mini will get a build up of paint and the more you drybrush, the lighter colour the highlights will become. If your brush is not providing paint anymore, you just need to add more paint to it and dry it off as above and continue drybrushing.
